This ladies and gentlemen is a tried and tested product by yours truly. I grew up with my mom rubbing this stinky yellow paste on my face while I try and study with the stink surrounding the air. Horrible picture I've painted I know, but bear with me. As all things I've only recognized and learnt more about the power of this common kitchen spice when it blew up on social media. Apart from that, growing up I never understood acne or pimple problems during my teenage years as I never had them. But what I did have, and what still keeps coming even now are compliments on my skin and how clear it is. The secret I always say: 1. Genes 2. Manjal / Turmeric - don't know what really worked, but I will thank both profusely. So here it is, the recipe along with some questionable pictures showing you the quantity following the application on my face.
You will need:
1. Gram Flour (Besan) - 1tbs
2. Turmeric powder - 1tsp
3. Yogurt (plain, unsweetened) - 1tbs
Optional ingrediants based on your skin type:
1. Lime - 1tsp to remove tan
2. Honey (one tsp for normal skin - this leave the skin supple) - 1tsp
I've made the mixture using 1tsp of honey.
Leave the mask on for 30 min (till mask hardens). You can use it as a scrub once it dries by dabbing your face with water. Wash it off with water.
Turmeric: You may want to try a turmeric face mask to help reduce acne and any resulting scars. The anti-inflammatory qualities can target your pores and calm the skin. Turmeric is also known to reduce scarring. This combination of uses may help your face clear up from acne breakouts.
Honey: Its anti-inflammatory properties will calm redness and irritation. Honey's not just hydrating; its antioxidants will repair skin and protect it against oxidation and environmental damage.
Gram flour: It is used for skin lightening, it reduce oiliness, fights pimples. It is also a great body scrub.
Yogurt: contains natural antibacterial and anti-fungal properties. Naturally reduce fine lines and wrinkles from forming with an anti-aging yogurt face mask. The lactic acid in yogurt will help dissolve dead skin and tighten pores
Lime juice: It removes tan and brightens skin.
1. Always do a test patch first to see if your skin is allergic to any ingredients.
